The Mail on Sunday state Ferguson was keen on the club hiring Tottenham boss Pochettino before Solskjaer was given the contract.The Scot is said to be a huge admirer of Pochettino, who has guided his side to a Champions League final this season despite signing just one player in the past three transfer windows. Ferguson is said to be ‘disappointed’ that he is being left in the dark over key decisions at the club by Ed Woodward and Co – and he is asking his former right-hand man and current assistant manager Mike Phelan for all the latest goings-on.A source close to Ferguson told the Mail on Sunday: “Sir Alex feels conflicted. He can see the irony that he still spends time thinking about United when hes retired.“But he loves the club and does feel a bit hurt that his opinion is never sought.”
