I’m a Celeb: Harry Redknapp strikes up unlikely friendship with John Barrowman and tells brilliant story of how he met his wife Sandra
If you like football but you havent been watching Im A Celebrity, what on Earth are you doing?!Harry Redknapp has been in absolutely blinding form and is even the favourite to win the show after his brilliant jokes in episode one where he described how he thought he was a good driver until he accidentally ran over his wife (he tells it much better).Harry is becoming a favourite in the jungle1
Harry is becoming a favourite in the jungle
Episode two, Harry was in his element as he recounted a number of hilarious stories about the time he tried to water his wifes plants with a jet-washer AND the occasions he didnt recognise Prince Harry and Princess Beatrice when bumping into them.

He says he even thought for a moment the Duke of Sussex was a former player of his!If you need to need to familiarise yourself with these hilarious tales you can see the video below. But last nights instalment of the ITV programme showed a different side to Harry and it was refreshing to see.The former Bournemouth, West Ham and Tottenham boss is obviously a football man first and foremost. However, episode three proves there is a gentler side to the east London lad and we are seeing an unlikely friendship develop between him and flamboyant actor John Barrowman as well as hearing about the adorable story of how he met his wife, Sandra.Harrys not a bad singer either! We know this because one of the first bits of the show saw Harry and John belt out the classic British tuneI Do Like To Be Beside The Seasideas the pair and their campmates said hello to a new day in the Australian jungle.Harry was not at the centre of things so much, as the standout part of the show was the Bushtucker trial which was done by Anne Hegerty fromThe Chase. However, Harry was still given a decent amount of air time and there was a lovely moment halfway through where he and John told each other how they met their respective partners.John explained how a series of telephone calls saw him ending up taking his now-partner on a first date alongside the singer Cher (as you do!)There were no A-List celebrities present when Harry met Sandra whom hes been with for 54 years but this story certainly had more of a British charm about it.Harry explained how he and a former West Ham goalkeeper Colin Mackleworth (who ended up becoming an undertaker) approached two girls at a dance (a similar thing to clubbing for the older generation) in Stratford, east London and one of them was Sandra. He said: Me and my mate Macca, he was a goalkeeper for West Ham, saw these two lovely girls and I said to Macca ‘shall we have a dance with those two?’Macca is a good looking geezer and I look back on it now and think Sandra must have seen us both coming over and thought I hope I aint got him and she went for me. 54 years later were still going strong. And Macca ended up as an undertaker so really Sandra had the better deal in the long-term.This was arguably Harrys best story yet and these fans couldn’t get enough of it.We’re sure Harry has got plenty more in his locker.
